A Word From Our President

Team,
As we enter the sixth month of the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to remind you that we must be as vigilant about the virus now as we were at the beginning. The infection rate and number of deaths continue to climb. Some cities and states are still under restrictions. A cure has not been discovered and a vaccine, while under development and testing, probably won’t be widely available until the end of the year – at the earliest.
In the next few weeks some schools will be back in session. As the weather cools down people will be spending more time inside. COVID cases may spike again. Flu season will still be here in the fall, complicating the prevention picture and impacting hospitals. Ultimately pandemic fatigue is going to set in and people will stop being strict about preventing the spread of the COVID virus.
Now is not the time to relax.
We owe it to ourselves, our families, our team, and our customers to stay on top of our health and safety programs. We must make sure that we are doing our best every day to keep ourselves and our customers safe.
Keep doing the basics: washing your hands frequently, wearing your mask, cleaning your work area, keeping social distancing, and not touching your face. In the store, make sure that we clean all of the high touch areas frequently, that the plexiglass barriers are set up properly, the one way traffic in the stores is maintained, and all customers should be wearing a mask.
By doing these things we can keep you, and your families, safe. Thank you for all of your hard work. If you see, hear or think of an idea that would improve our health and safety initiatives, then please let me know and we will consider implementing it.
