Dear Friends of GIG,

we hope you are keeping well!

Ten months into this global pandemic we busy adapting and collaborating in oder to rise to the challenge and support each other. In this newsletter edition, we are sharing some of the projects and solutions GIGers across the globe are working. Some of them, like the Nidhi Mittal's bioplastic or Casa Criatura's aerosol box address the worlds current main crisis Covid-19 and climate challenges, others like Lab Procomoum's Colaboradora project or CoAct are exploring new methods for work, research and collaboration.

This month we revisited our Core Values, including: "We believe in the power of the community to solve challenges. We believe in solving problems locally and sustainably by way of utilising and/or establishing local infrastructures. We also believe in collaborating and working together across borders to support the development, exchange and adaption of grassroots innovations to solve global problems."

We are proud of the many ways in our community members are implementing these ideas.

We are in this together.

We are what we create together.

Biotex: DIY Bioplastics!

Plastic has played a very essential part in protecting our frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The problem is, all of this plastic is finding its way into piles of garbage and if we do not take urgent and proper actions now, it will negatively impact our health, wildlife, and the natural environment in the long term.

GIG member Nidhi Mittal, India, is working on Bioplastics,  which are are one way to tackle the problem.
