Bethesda Green's Sustainability Series

Ditch the harsh chemicals and fertilizers and join us for an exciting session on how to care for your lawn organically! This is the first of a 2 part Sustainability Series on organic lawn care. We'll chat about strategies to maintain a beautiful, ecofriendly lawn with local experts, Zack Klein, AIR Lawn Care and Mary Travaglini from the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.

Bethesda Green encourages students to prevent plastic pollution with Clean Headwaters Program

This school year, Bethesda Green is partnering with our sister organization, One Montgomery Green to launch the Clean Headwaters Program in Bethesda. We're excited about this joint venture and plan to build on last year's Clean Headwaters programming in Silver Spring. We're seeking students and teachers to participate this fall and spring from the Bethesda area high schools, grades 9-12.

Programming will begin ONLINE at the end of September.

Session 1: The Scope and Impact of Plastic Waste
Session 2: Plastics Effects and Local Waste Management Process
Session 3: Stream Visit and Data Collection
Session 4: Discovery and Analysis of Stream Data
Session 5: Latest Science and Research on Plastics and Plastics Waste
Session 6: Local Stream Clean-up & Action Project Proposals
