Mental Health Matters: New program will deliver FREE mental health and wellbeing training to members
Swimming NSW has partnered with Australian Red Cross to launch Lane Ropes for Life - a program that will give members living in regional, rural, and remote areas of NSW access to FREE mental health training.

Swimming NSW understands and recognises its role in building a healthy and supportive sporting environment for our members, staff, volunteers, coaches, swimmers and their families. Early intervention is the key to effectively dealing with mental health concerns within our community. Knowing how to spot and respond to signs of crisis within your team, among teammates and across the swimming community, can have a big impact on the overall health, wellbeing and enjoyment of our sport. We encourage our members to take advantage of this training opportunity.

The training will be delivered via a series of interactive online and face-to-face workshops and will focus on helping Swimming NSW members, staff and volunteers to better recognise the signs of mental health concerns within their swimming communities, and offer practical advice for responding to mental health challenges, including where to go for more help.
Workshop dates:
  • North Coast, 25 August 2020
  • Coast & Valley (Central Coast), 1 September 2020
  • South Eastern (South Coast), 8 September 2020

Swim Central tips for clubs
  • Product Creation Workflow is complete! Club Registrars can now create membership and other products using a simple and intuitive interface. Help Guide will be provided at the beginning of the registration season (Monday, 14 September).
  • Club Race Secretaries can now enter and pay for club relay teams through Swim Central – no more manual payments! Help guide to be available soon.
  • Friendly reminder for the upcoming season – swimmers will be broken into 8&Under and 9&Over membership packages. The age of the swimmer as at 1 October, is what determines which membership package the swimmer will register into.
  • The next two weeks of development for Swimming Australia is a focus on work to enable parents and swimmers to have a simpler and less error-prone profile and family administration experience, by reducing the number of navigation items/steps on offer to them.
