We are resuming our training,
both private sessions and group classes!
 I apologise for our silence during the Alert Level 3. I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping well.
When we came into the Alert Level 3, we had to postpone the last session of both Pre Beginners Class for Puppies and Good Manners Beginners Class. We will reschedule the session soon.
In addition we had to cancel the Agility Taster Workshop. I emailed everyone who had signed up for the event about the cancellation, but I am sorry if you signed up but didn't receive the email!
If you were working with me privately before the lockdown, I will contact you within a couple of days to reschedule our sessions/walks.
The next term of Pre Beginners Class for Puppies and Good Manners Beginners Class will commence on the first weekend of September! I would appreciate it if you would share the information with your friends with a puppy or dog in South Auckland!!

How were you doing during the Alert Level 3?
How have you all been doing? What have you been working on with your dog?
I have been working with my own dogs little by little. We took on the 30 Days of Heeling Challenge, where we practised exercises to help improve heelwork every day for 30 days. As my puppy Jasmine was having her first heat, she was unable to go out for walks for three weeks! (Did you know that female dogs in season are not allowed to enter public spaces, under the Dog Control Bylaw? I didn't until a friend let me know it.)
After her season ended, she started having walks but she has not walked outside our immediate neighbourhood yet in the Alert Level 3. I hope that we can make up for the lost of socialisation opportunities for her once the Alert Level comes down to 2!
For the last several days in the Alert Level 2, why don't you practise Mat Work with your dog? Especially if you have a puppy, this is a must!!! It helps hyper-active dogs too as they can learn self-control. Here is an example: https://youtu.be/u6BE0MhnMfA
Puppies/dogs who love their mat are so easy to manage in the house!!
