Hi everyone. We hope you are all settling in to your new lifestyle during lockdown. Here at the nursery we are adjusting to a new way to help you all.  We're doing lots of phone consultations, sending lots of photos and doing lots of deliveries.  It's a bit harder for us to serve you, but we are doing our best and we thank you all for your patience.

Just a reminder, we can do deliveries to your door, or you can pick up your items from our customer bays outside the nursery. So give us a call on 9822 3305 and we can help you with whatever you need.

Cymbidium orchids are looking amazing at the moment, and what a great way to add some cheer to your home. These cymbidium flowers are likely to still be flowering when lockdown ends, which is amazing value!  We have a beautiful range of colours to choose from as well as a wide range of pots to show them off in.

Hellebores come in so many colours and really are one of the most cheery and high performing plants in a garden, flowering well into spring. Once you plant them, they will establish themselves in your garden for many years to come. Tough yet beautiful, attractive to bees, they flower for months and do really well in vases. Also a great option for gifting.

For such a stunning flower, lilies are surprisingly easy to grow. They can be planted in the ground, or kept in pots and they make a stunning feature when they are in flower. Unlike most summer flowering bulbs, lilies don’t have a true winter dormancy so they need to be planted soon. Plant some now, when the flowers begin to bud you will be so happy you did!
Update your edible patch with seasonal herbs and veggies. We have plenty of stock of all your favourites seedlings and herbs, as well as rhubarb crowns, mushroom kits and seed potatoes.
Spring is only a few weeks away. Now is the time to start thinking about how you are going to support your plants through the growing season. Getting in now to enrich and fertilise your soil means you will have a head start and get maximum growth in your garden.

Potting mix
For indoors, your potted plants will thrive with repotting and a freshen up of the potting mix, and then feed them regularly to keep them looking their best. We have a range of potting mixes suitable for your plants requirements, including terracotta and tub, premium, propagation mix, orchid mix, cacti and succulent mix, and african violet mix.

Fertiliser
Outside, it's time to feed, feed, feed. Add some compost to help activate your soil, encouraging all the microbial activity that keeps it fertile. Adding some all purpose fertiliser, such as a pelletised manure, is very easy to do and your garden will pay you back with strong and healthy growth. Just don't forget to water in well.

There are a range of special fertilisers for specific plants that have particular requirements, like roses, orchids, citrus, gardenias and other acid loving plants. We can help you choose the best product for your garden.

Vegetable gardens grow fast, so you can support that growth by also feeding every fortnight with a liquid fertiliser such as Powerfeed.

Being away from the people we love is tough, whether you are missing the special occasions or your weekly cuppa with your best friend. Sending a gift to let them know you are thinking of them may be a happy moment in their day.

We can deliver a beautifully wrapped gift in the Stonnington area for a flat fee of $10 (for all other areas we can provide delivery fee at time of order). Our team wear face masks and follow all hygiene requirements, and will leave the gift at the front door.  Or we can wrap it and have it waiting for you to collect with our kerbside pickup.
