Day 3: the Engine – getting the lives of these young adults empowered by the Gospel
The first step with these young adults* is simply getting them exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many have simply never heard. Others have heard about Jesus, but what they know has come from Hollywood, other popular media or even other religions and their understanding is inadequate and inaccurate. Once we get some accurate head-knowledge to them, many may show no interest to learn more until a crisis happens, and it causes them to move towards God and His hope of salvation. Until then however, they don’t have a true engine. They don’t have a foundation. They will never have life without Jesus.
We get the Gospel to them by sharing with anyone and everyone we can. Meeting them in casual and social settings and building relationships with them, so we can share our testimony and the Gospel. Sometimes meeting young adults comes through helping to meet life needs like English conversation practice. Other times we can meet young adults through social media. However we meet them, we love them and share with them what God has done in our own lives and how they can have this same relationship with God. We like to share stories that Jesus told, and we begin to open their eyes to the possibility of a relationship with God.
Each time we share the Gospel, we are praying for belief but also looking to determine who are the ones that have already felt God working in their life and drawing them close to Himself. We filter for these seekers, those who are looking for something more or new, in their spiritual life.
Once we find those with a desire for something new, we try to give a solid overview of the Gospel and the story of the Bible. They typically have no background with God’s Word, so we want to help lay the foundation for them to fully understand the Gospel. As the Gospel is explained, we challenge them to commit their lives to God through faith in Jesus Christ.
We want God to work in full power and ask the Holy Spirit to bring conviction to those who are seeking hope, to hear the Gospel and experience the miracles of God’s power. Pray for young adults to find the only power for their life, their “life’s engine” in salvation through Jesus Christ.

- Ask God to cause them to experience the Gospel--not only in word but with power.
