I’m looking for more reviewers, so do get in touch if you’d like an epub, or mobi copy for a no pressure, honest review - email me at: marjma2014@gmail.com.

Here’s the blurb:
An anthology and compilation of diaries, short stories, flash fiction, contributions from the 'isolation writers,' plus poetry written during the time of lockdown in the UK. This Is Lockdown is written from a writer's perspective highlighting the simple pleasures of day-to-day life during such an uncertain and frightening time. It also gives a glimpse of the blogging, writing world. The book showcases several authors and their thoughts on what it is like to experience 'isolation' as a writer. I also discuss the handling of the pandemic and my thoughts on what might happen next. In the final part of the book I include my latest short story idea: a YA romance and various short pieces of poetry, and flash fiction inspired by the pandemic.

What else have I been doing? I've been writing reviews for fellow authors' books.

TIPS:
And I’m sharing a TIP for authors/creatives/photography enthusiasts:

How To Increase The DPI of your photos

One of the time-consuming jobs I had to do during the creation of  the This Is Lockdown collection was to increase the DPI of the photos in the collection, just in case I decide to offer a paperback for sale.

What is DPI? It stands for the dots per inch of a photographic image. There are a considerable number of photos in This Is Lockdown, (I’m a photography enthusiast,) so this took me several attempts and much pulling of hair.)

So, to save you going through the same... and to stop me forgetting how to do this next time. I decided to write these handy instructions for my subscribers. If you haven’t got photo shop,
here’s the method I used:

CHANGE DPI BY USING MS PAINT

First of all, you need to check whether your chosen image has 300dpi. You can check this easily by going into Microsoft Paint:
  1. Open the image. Choose open with Microsoft Paint. Go to File properties, Resolution.
  2. If you don’t have a photo with 300 dpi, you can download one from the Internet.
I tried Pixabay and found this very pretty fairy image which is 300 DPI and it is - free for commercial use No attribution required

https://pixabay.com/illustrations/fairy-beautiful-dark-spells-fantasy-2112768/
  1. Next, differentiate between the image with 300 dpi, so let’s call that the Fairy image, (or high-resolution image,) the image you want to convert is the Non Fairy image (or the low resolution,) image!
Use whatever descriptive powers you have in your power to tell them apart.
  1. Now open both images with Paint
  2. On the Fairy (High-res,) image, click “File” and then choose “Properties”. Keep the “Image Properties” box open.
  3. Redo the same steps with the Non Fairy (Low- Res) image (File – Properties)
  4. Copy the “Width” and “Height” properties of your Non Fairy (Low-Resolution image,) and type those details on the “Width” and “Height” of the Fairy (high-resolution image) The fairy image will become either smaller, or larger depending on the size difference between the two. In fact, you might even cut the fairy in half! Don’t worry, as long as you saved her beforehand she will be just fine.
  5. Click “Ok” on the “Image Properties” box of the Fairy (High-Resolution image,) to save the new size. Don’t change anything on the Low-resolution image, simply hit the x button which will highlight it red..
  6. Click on the low-resolution image and press “Ctrl-A” to select all then press “Ctrl-C” to copy it.
  7. Click on the high-resolution image and press “Ctrl-V to paste.
Now the low-resolution image has become the high-resolution image, but with 300dpi.
It’s magic! Of course, it is. You know my blog is Kyrosmagica!
  1. Finally, go to the“File”setting, and then choose “Save As” to save your new 300 DPI image. Pick a name and destination to save your file and you’re done.
  2. Go to the newly saved image, right click on it and select “Properties” and then “details” to check the result. It should now show 300dpi.
  3. If your image is now too small you can resize to make it larger with the resize button, using the pexels setting, or (Ctrl-W)

Here is where I got the information from but just make sure you use CtrlV to copy, or it won’t work. https://camerahuzz.com/convert-72-dpi-300-dpi/
It sounds complicated but once you’ve done this a few times it becomes easier and dare I say it?
Fun! I promise.
I hope you found that helpful, or entertaining. If nothing else, you might have found a nice fairy photo.
Much love,

Marje (MJ) xxx
