The National Academies, as part of a fast-track study, recently held a public workshop to discuss equitable allocation of vaccines against COVID-19. Experts discussed updates on current vaccine development and distribution activities; past vaccine allocation experience in the United States; ensuring public trust and equity; and the role of infectious disease dynamics in informing allocation strategy. Watch the recording here.

This workshop was part of the work of the Committee on Equitable Allocation of Vaccine for the Novel Coronavirus, which is tasked with developing a framework for COVID-19 vaccine allocation to assist policymakers in the domestic and global health communities with decisions on vaccine allocation. The study is sponsored by NIH and CDC, and the committee will seek public input to inform its deliberations.
