Ya Saad
Farah Siraj

Farah approaches music as a medium for peace and a way to lend a voice to people around the world who need to be heard. She fuses her influences of middle eastern music, flamenco, jazz, bossa and pop in her music. Farah currently leads an ethnically diverse quintet of Arabian Flamenco Jazz, with world-class musicians from the Middle East, Europe, the United States and South America.

We are grateful she will be performing an online, streaming concert for Stone Church Arts on Saturday, October 10 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available now.

Meta Warrick Fuller: Trailblazing African American Artist
American Masters on PBS

Artist Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller (1877-1968) moved to Paris from Philadelphia in 1899 to study sculpture, where she began creating her expressive and groundbreaking artwork, which celebrated African American heritage and cultural identity, and resisted stereotypical representations in her depictions of the black body. She elevated African American history through the first federal art commission awarded to an African American, and in other exhibitions, including at several world fairs.

The Soul of Early Irish Monasticism
Bernard McGinn

Not many people are aware that when it comes to Irish religious history, St. Patrick only scratches the surface. The island in fact has a rich and fascinating Christian heritage, of which monks and sprawling monastic communities play a central role.

Bernard McGinn is the Naomi Shenstone Donnelley Professor Emeritus of Historical Theology and of the History of Christianity in the Divinity School and the Committees on Medieval Studies and on General Studies at the University of Chicago. He has written extensively about the history of apocalyptic thought, spirituality, and mysticism.
