In mid-May, Luminary Labs was talking about what “reopening the office” might look like, and we conducted a flash survey of Lab Report readers and our extended network. At that time, nearly all respondents were working remotely, but the majority thought their offices would reopen in the summer or fall.
A few months later, some employees are returning to offices, but surging infection rates across the United States have prompted many companies to postpone reopening. Some of America’s largest tech companies say they will not bring employees back to the office until 2021, and office workers who have been at home for five months are settling in for the long haul.
Luminary Labs is curious about how people and companies are adapting to the ongoing pandemic — and how attitudes toward reopening have shifted since our last flash survey. When and how are offices reopening? And what are employees doing to improve their remote work experience?
We know some of the world’s most important work happens outside an office, and many jobs can’t be done from home. But for the purposes of this survey, we’re looking specifically at organizations (any sector) where most work takes place in an office setting. Most of the survey questions are focused on organizations and employees in extended remote work situations.
Responses to our two-minute flash survey are CONFIDENTIAL; we are not asking respondents to provide their names or contact details. We'll share a summary of results in a future issue of the Lab Report.
