Lilly Endowment Grant
MC recently received a $216,576 grant from the Lilly Endowment to support the continuation of Maryville Adventures in Studying Theology (MAST), a program that aims to cultivate youth leaders for the church and world by helping them discover and embrace the traditions of Christian faith, put their faith into practice, and explore important questions of our time. Recent Grad
One of Maryville College's most recent graduates began his studies in business administration at the College more than six decades ago, but he did not complete the requirements for a bachelor’s degree with the class of 1961 as originally intended. Now, Judge Fred Morrison ’61 can say with pride that he finished what he started at the school that has meant so much to him. Read more about this impressive alumnus!

Board of Church Visitors: 20 Years
MC’s Board of Church Visitors recently celebrated its 20th anniversary! In celebration of this milestone and recognition of its role in MC’s dedication to developing exceptional leadership for the church and community, BCV members raised $11,541 in four weeks to support church-related programs at MC. Fall Sports Postponed
The USA South Athletic Conference announced that fall competition is postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The decision affects football, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country and volleyball. The postponement is until Spring 2021, when teams could resume competition and even championship play if medical and safety conditions allow. Read more on mcscots.com.

Bushing Diaries
Two volumes of letters and journals of longtime MC professor and administrator Art Bushing ’43 have recently been published. Lisa Soland transcribed, compiled and edited the volumes, which include Bushing’s love letters home to wife Dotty Barber Bushing ’42 and his detailed account of his time as an Army soldier in Europe during World War II. The books are available at the MC bookstore, Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

Virtual Convocation
“The Unintended Refresh” is the title of the address that President Dr. Bryan Coker will deliver during the College’s 2020 Convocation ceremony, which is scheduled for Thurs., Aug. 20 at 11:15 a.m. The ceremony will be entirely virtual and streamed on the MC website and official social media channels ( Facebook and YouTube).
