With so many new (and changing) health and safety regulations, social norms, and looming unknowns, it is helpful to anchor our thinking about academic and behavioral teaching and learning to timeless strategies.
Below are Four Strategies for Success as we all look ahead to the transition back to in-person teaching recommended by our director, Terry Scott, Ph.D.

- Planning- prepare for lessons
- Structure and Consistency- create routines through schedules and taught procedures
- Reteach- behavioral expectations must be retaught and reinforced by pointing out positive examples of behavior
- Review with Rigor- connect previous academic learning to new learning

Student Mental Health Matters

Finding opportunities to support students and families during these unprecedented times has been a priority to many districts.

Mental health professionals from Henderson Co. Schools have been preparing 950 packets of mental wellness and mindfulness activities for students each week through the school shutdown. Our team at KYABRI has been working with other project teams at CIBRS, leading content experts from the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky University, state-wide educational cooperatives, local school district administrators, and the Kentucky Department of Education to create a large database of informational videos and training modules for districts to utilize in learning about and implementing current research and evidence-based educational best practices.
