Parkdale People's Press

In 1990, Parkdale Project Read launched the Parkdale People's Press, dedicated to sharing the stories of adult literacy learners, in their own words.

On July 27, 2020 we were proud to publish a new learner publication, Anything I Want to Do, I Can Do written by adult literacy learner Victoria Johnson, and illustrated by PPR Tutor, Jillian Tamaki.

Victoria Miller Johnson was born in Clarendon, Jamaica. She came to Canada in July 1977. Her mother was a dressmaker named lsa Archer Miller and her father was a farmer named Sylvester Miller. She has three brothers and four sisters.

Jillian Tamaki is a cartoonist, illustrator and educator raised in Calgary, Alberta. She lives in Toronto.

Victoria and Jillian have worked together at Parkdale Project Read since 2017.
