Flu vaccinations

National plans to extend eligibility for flu vaccinations to those aged 50 - 64 years have been welcomed by local GPs.
But, following a reported big increase in inquiries at GP practices, people in this age group are being asked not to try and book a vaccination appointment at this time.

In line with national plans to protect the most vulnerable first, people aged 50 – 64 will be offered the vaccine later in the season so the NHS can first focus on those most at risk – including those aged 65 or over, pregnant women, young children, and those with long-term health condition.

There has been a big increase in the use of digital technology to access health care services over the last few months.

Our partners at Healthwatch Suffolk would like to hear of your experiences of using digital.

They want to hear from anyone with an experience to share, and also from people who may find it difficult to engage with digital services, or who may have been prevented from accessing them when they needed to.

GP practices in west Suffolk highly rated by patients
People across west Suffolk have again reported a very high level of satisfaction with their local GP practices, according to the latest independent national annual GP Patient survey data.
Dr Christopher Browning, a GP in Long Melford and chairman of NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “GP practices in west Suffolk consistently achieve results which are better than the national average. I applaud the efforts of every member of staff who every day do so much to support people’s physical and mental health. I would also like to thank patients for their support and understanding during this very busy time.”
