Adapted Sport Economic Impact Study
There's Still Time to Participate

Thank you to those of you who have already completed the Adapted Sport Economic Impact Survey. The data and information you provided will be invaluable as we identify key trends and opportunities for the adapted sport industry.

There is still time to participate in the survey which is intended to gather data related to the adapted sport movement and how it contributes to the U.S. sport economy.

To make completion of the survey quicker, it's helpful to have the following 2019 program data on-hand:

  • Budget/revenue information
  • Program hours
  • Participant demographics (age, gender, military/non-military)
  • Number of sport events hosted annually including estimated numbers for:
    • Participants
    • Coaches
    • Spectators
    • Other admin support - officials, volunteers

The survey should take no longer than 15-20 minutes to complete. We will share the results of the survey during the LABS 2020 virtual conference on October 15. Thank you for participating in this important industry initiative!

Keeping the Momentum Going

Last month, we celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We look forward to keeping the momentum moving forward and continuing to make notable progress with disability rights.

We found this illustrated diagram on LinkedIn that was a part of a panel Victor Calise, NYC Commissioner for People with Disabilities, moderated with Citi employees. The illustration is a great snapshot highlighting what the ADA has accomplished over the last 30 years and where we still need to go in regard to disability rights. It could serve as a daily reminder of the important work we do, especially as it pertains to sport.

Image Description: Illustrated thought diagram showing key themes from the event panel discussion. In the center of this piece are the words ‘Changing Perceptions of People with Disabilities’. The word ‘Perceptions’ is small at the start and grows larger towards the end to illustrate the change in perspective we need around this subject area. Some of the other illustrated themes include: disability rights are human rights, normalizing and equalizing the playing field, and advocacy for change in social attitude.
