STATE ELECTIONS MATTER NOW MORE THAN EVER!

9 seats in the PA House + 4 seats in the PA Senate =
Democratic Majority in Harrisburg

REPRESENTATIVE MARY LOUISE ISAACSON
(D, HD 175)

On August 4, P&E met with Representative Isaacson.

What we learned:

She was elected in 2018, after serving 12 years as Chief of Staff for Representative Mike O’Brien.
She is running unopposed.
The pandemic has changed how government works in Harrisburg; health care and food insecurity are major concerns.
In the next PA budget, there will be a major deficit.
She emphasized need to invest in education.

October 2019, Governor Wolf signed PA Act 77 into law, allowing for sweeping voting reforms, including mail-in voting.
PA will pay the postage for mail-in ballots.
The Trump campaign is suing PA Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar and PA’s 67 county election boards over vote-by-mail procedures.
The current election code doesn’t allow election officials to begin counting ballots until 7 AM on Election Day.
The legislature is considering legislation that would allow for counting to begin earlier.

VOTE BY MAIL-SAFEGUARD OUR ELECTIONS

Deadlines for November 3 General Election:

* October 27, 5 PM – APPLICATIONS for Vote By Mail must be RECEIVED by your county election office.

* November 3, 8 PM – BALLOTS must be RECEIVED by your county election office. Postmarks are not enough.

Mail your ballot at least two weeks in advance, OR place your ballot in a designated box or deliver your ballots to the County election office.
