2020 PERTH CARNIVAL A GRADE ANALYSIS
(THANKS TO BURRANDONG)

“Perth Carnival for 2020, fun fun weekend. After being relegated to the deck chair fraternity(formerly known as the peanut gallery) for all of 2020 polox fixture, my new thing will be leaning on my many many many years of playing Polox LOL to provide a detailed report from a Plebs Point Of View. 🤓A grade analysis goes as follows.
Foothills💙💛 are no longer the ugly little dysfunctional brother of the Central zone club South Midlands❤💙. The ledger for 2020 A grade finals between the two is now tied at 1 all. The emergence of the talented number 3 blonde haired left hander Foothills has recruited reminds me of a young Scott Gurney Allen circa 2014. How ever this model must be the 2.0 version as this 3s emotional control👊 and ball delviery is far superior to the old model.👏👏Goooo scootttyyy
Everybodys fav" the long legged Elizabeth Reid Pink Flamingo Reid" is back in her original colours and is getting on famously with the athletic little Grey mare 🕊that aparently just appeared in the paddock
For those counting at home, thats two weapon mares that have just appeared next to the house ready to go for Lizzy.🦄 #Magicdoeshappen
Luke ReidKenneth Gimmely Reid is a hard hitting 2 that is really applying himself at making "playing a 2 cool again. Also not cool for the 2 playing against him. With the intensity in voice, physical pressence and unloading ability the Number 1 and 3 Lyster sisters (a.k.a Jarrahdale bad bitches) bring, it has fueled the 💙💛 revival.Everybody's favourite vet Adrian Fleay completes the team making sure he and Woody are always on time in the area. He also potentially has the most amount of 1 snaps after this weekend. Snap snap snap🐊
In defence of the 💙❤ Ben Thomas taking one on the chin and receiving the wobbles in his second chukka was always going to be a big deal. Thoughts and prayers are with Benny tonight as he prepares to wake up tomorrow morning and receive a grilling from teamate/wife Suzette Thomas that getting KOd cost them the final. 🤣🤣
One must also " tip the hat" to Billy-joe Thomas who stepped up to play in Ben's chukka whilst his brother was recovering. Humourlessy I think Jo presumed that 1 bloke playing in 2 sections allowed for twice the amount of verbal fervolity with the men in the black and white shirts.
The next time the two form teams of the comp cross, the crowd is desperately hoping Christie Martin's game changing Bronc Big "Casey" is sound and ready to go. Will Jas Carroll return to the top side? Or will the ❤💙 line-up stay unchanged. Stay tuned.
Regrading my beloved Southern Zone 🖤and the form A grade teams. ❤💛Capel are definitely the Heavy Hitters from the South in 2020. The Keightley bros arriving has bought much needed man power. John Nye-Chart and Tom Keightley have formed a connection as 1 and 3s that is so strong not even Johns own "swing of death" could break. On there day the Capel team does seem to have the ability and pony power to stick it to 💙💖 and 💙💛.
💚💛 "Goooo River" are still trying to find there way back from 2019 State Champs at Moony. #LastyearsheroslastseenatMoony
How ever don't sleep on "The river💛💚 some serious form is not far away.
💚🖤The Mob A grade are currently MIA atm, word has it the boys are all out, still looking for the water that went missing at the Mob carnival.😂😂
No doubt the Barb Lyster cup will be an epic hit out, see you all on the sidelines”
Burrandong out.

DEPARTMENT OF SPORT NEWS
REMINDER - Member Protection Information Officers

Each club should have a nominated MPIO. Once online component is complete please email your certificate to eo@pawa.asn.au. This is soon going to be part of legislation in sport as they conclude the inquest in to child protection.

(MPIOs) play an important and positive role in providing a safe, fair and inclusive environment. An MPIO is a source of information about a person’s rights, responsibilities and options when managing an issue or complaint. They can also provide information and advice to sport administrators and complaint handlers regarding the Member Protection Policy of that sport.

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries invites members of the sport and recreation industry to register for the Member Protection Information Officer course. The course is specifically designed for people who wish to be a Member Protection Information Officer in their sport and recreation organisations and clubs. Please note priority will be given to representatives from State Sporting Associations.

The MPIO course comprises of two stages: an online prerequisite and then a face-to-face workshop. State sport and recreation associations and clubs are invited to nominate persons from within their organisation to attend.

Prior to attending the face-to-face workshop. The online component takes approximately 4 hours to complete and covers:
• The MPIO role
• Complaint resolution procedures
• Member protection and the law
• Child protection
• Harassment and discrimination
• Ethical and practical considerations.

For further course information, please visit Play by the Rules.
UMPIRING
The virtual Umpiring Clinic was held via Zoom meeting with Paul Martin and was well received, with many logging in to attend.

Feedback from the participants was that it was great to have the flexibility of being able to attend the clinic from home and it is hoped that more theoretical training clinics can be held this way in the future.
COACHING
The Level 1 Virtual Coaching Clinic with Mandy Marriott was completed and it is believed that this was the first virtual Coaching Clinic to be held by the PAA in Australia!

The use of Zoom meetings for this course allowed the participation of guest speakers and sessions were held with Mandy, Jodie Hall, Gerald O’Brien, Sandra Weston, Paul Martin and Barry Butterly, to name a few!

The clinic finished with the new coaches practicing their skills with the juniors at South Midlands.  Congratulations to the new Level 1 Coaches - Sally Williams, Dale Cross, John Nye-Chart, Shaynon Easther, Paige Adams, Jenny Skiggs and Paul Hodgkinson

The PAWA will assist participants with completing their WWC (Working With Children) certification.

If you are interested in completing this course in the future, please complete your general principles at Aus Sport and register you interest with Mandy.
