My Latest Ministry Updates
I have spent much of these early days of my new role learning, but I have also begun in the following areas of my new role with CBF in educational advocacy.

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP: I've begun a partnership with Frederick Douglass Elementary. The first project with the Principal is creating Treat Bags for the teachers and staff to encourage them as they start the school year online. Each bag is filled with goodies and treats for an at-home spa day. I also had a fun time crocheting an apple key chain for each teacher for a personal touch! These will soon be delivered to the principal for distribution to the teachers and staff.

ADVOCACY: I've created several resources for a faith-based advocacy group including a document titled Public Education: Why Do Christians Care? as well as an educational brochure, and a legislative one-pager on public education.

I have also begun a working relationship with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools PTA Council and excited to work towards greater school equity and support for public education alongside these new partners.

SUPPORTING EDUCATIONAL MINISTRIES: I am developing resources to share with CBF Field Personnel as well as state and regional organizations in the CBF Fellowship. I was excited to have beginning conversations with one leader on a possible partnership to support their state's efforts in supporting struggling schools in their area.

The podcast will be streamed live on Facebook. You can view it live or following the event at the link below.

Pray With Me
I'd appreciate your prayers!
  • Starting something new during a worldwide pandemic seems crazy. Pray against feeling overwhelmed and to trust in God's perfect timing.
  • Pray for students and teachers who are returning to the classroom for their safety and for perseverance for those learning and teaching online.
  • Pray for open doors as I seek new partnerships to support students.
  • I must raise support in this new role and that's daunting. Pray for God to stir in the hearts and minds of those who are passionate about education and justice ministries.
Your support makes this ministry possible.
