Dear Heritage Families,

We are thrilled to be opening on August 17.  We have been asked if our plans have changed in light of decisions made by other districts over the last few days. Thankfully, Larimer County continues to support and affirm our position to open.  We respect the decision of other schools but we are able to open because of the size of our school and the ratio of staff to students which allows for greater control of population flow. With that said, we are consistently evaluating our protocols to keep our staff and students safe and healthy. To learn more about our protocols, please read this email that was sent last week. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

In His Grip,
Michael Cuckler
Update on STEAM courses offered 2020-21

Two issues have arisen as parents have begun the registration process for the STEAM courses being offered this fall: confusion about the registration process and questions about the courses for which their students should sign up. Hopefully the following information will help.

REGISTRATION DIRECTIONS
  1. Step 1. Follow the directions given by CEC in the attachment to the July 21 email from Heritage. That email was entitled “Supply lists, STEAM, and More
  2. When you receive confirmation from CEC that they received your application it can be a little confusing. I have talked with CEC personnel and they told me they have tried to make changes to this document but I have not seen an updated version, so I will do my best to guide you through the next steps.
  • If your student is only taking STEAM courses, you ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE STEP 2 of CEC’s process. (The document they send you has Steps 2, 3, and 4. Ignore Steps 3 and 4.)
  • Stephanie Belmarez can send you a digital copy of  the transcripts, etc. needed by CEC. You can email or call her for that help.
  • Your student does NOT NEED a student number from FRCC or Aims.
  • Do NOT give permission for your student to take standardized test through CEC. The STEAM courses your students are participating in are enrichment courses facilitated by HCA teachers. Our students are NOT taking any courses from CEC teachers. Any assessments of your students’ learning will be done by HCA teachers.
  • PLEASE NOTE: If your 10th– 12thgrade student is also taking DUAL ENROLLMENTclasses from Aims or FRCC through CEC, you MUST complete all four steps.
  • HCA is NOT requiring any high school student to take STEAM courses this year. All 7thand 8thgrade students WILL participate. All elementary students are also participating.

STEAM Course Descriptions

Dear HCA Senior Parents,

Congratulations on reaching this milestone; your child is a senior and headed towards graduation!

HCA Yearbook would like to feature your student.  Please submit your child's senior photo here: https://images.jostens.com/415463828

Or, you can email it to Isaac Bowen, Yearbook Adviser, at isaac.bowen@heritagechristian.info.

The deadline to submit senior photos is Friday, October 19, 2020. If your senior's image is submitted after Friday, October 19, please submit a $50.00 late fee that will be paid to our yearbook publisher to extend our deadline for the senior spread. The fee is not profit for the yearbook.

Images may be full body or head shots, and they may be black and white or color. For design purposes, vertical, not horizontal, photos are best. You may submit a horizontal photo, but it may require cropping to fit the page design. Clothing in the photo must follow the HCA dress code.

BABY BLESSING ADS (optional) - Bless and entertain your senior and all yearbook readers with personal pictures and a message congratulating your senior.  The fee helps pay for the cost of producing our yearbook.  Thank you for your support!

Full page (1-8 images and 175 words or less)- $180.00
1/2 page  (1-5 images and 140 words or less)- $135.00
1/4 page (1-3 images and 100 words or less)- $80.00
1/8 page (1-2 images and 50 words or less)- $40.00

Please make your check payable to HCA, and submit it to the front desk or Mrs. Koehler

Deadline is for Baby Blessings is Monday, November 12, 2020.

Please submit your written message, digital images and the size of the ad you are buying to Isaac Bowen, isaac.bowen@heritagechristian.info.  If you have original photographs, please have your images scanned and emailed or submit a disc to the front desk.  The entire staff handles images, and we don't want to risk damage or loss.  If you have never scanned an image, the photo staff at Wal-Mart and Target are very helpful and will show you how to complete the task successfully.

Lastly, if you are interested in purchasing a yearbook for a student that cannot afford one or a business ad, please reply to this email or email me directly.

May the Lord bless your year and thank you for your support,
Isaac Bowen
