Pottery Classes

Pottery students, remember to schedule your open studio time on the calendar (link).  We've added a question about what area of the studio that you plan to use (pottery wheel, glazing or hand building) so that we can monitor how many people in each area. Please remember to try to keep 6 ft. distance.

Our next session will begin the week of August 10th.  Most classes are full, although we have a few open spots in the Wednesday morning class.  Give us a call if you're interested in joining our Wednesday morning class!

New in the Gallery!

Tal & Bert is the meeting point of raw natural minerals and industrial concrete. Their planters and tea light holders are made from hand poured concrete that has been sculpted by hand in small batches. Their work is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, finding the beauty in imperfections.
Portland potter, Patrick Horsley, is strongly influenced by architecture, both primitive and contemporary, i.e. the home, the temple and the skyscraper. He bases his work on the idea of the container vessel, and at times, utilitarian forms such as teapots and lidded jars.
Craig Martell of Salem, Oregon has been a studio potter for over 30 years. His work reflects a great understanding of color and texture achieved from years of experimentation with firing and glazing. His functional work, ceremonial in form, is elegant and sensuous.
Megan Kilen (Megelise Pottery)  has been taking classes at Throwing Mud Gallery for several years.  We are happy to now sell her pottery in the gallery!  She thinks of each vessel as a piece of functional artwork, designed to be admired and enjoyed; a way to share a little bit of beauty with others.
