COVID-19 & Faculty Life: Academic Integrity
Next up in the COVID-19 & Faculty Life series, a session on Academic Integrity, Thursday, September 3, 3:10-4:30 pm - with Professor Jamie Donaldson, Vice-Dean Recruitment, Enrolment & Student Success & Nisha Panchal, Student Conduct & Academic Integrity Office. Please share with faculty in your departments/academic centre. Faculty are encouraged to submit questions with their registration and contact Eileen Egan-Lee for more information.
Spring Faculty Success Program
Reimbursement of early-bird registration fees for the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity's Spring 2021 Faculty Success Program is available. Faculty should submit a request (prior to registration) to Eileen Egan-Lee by October 16 including a commitment to complete the 12-week program and a statement from the Chair to reimburse 10% of the program fees from departmental funds. Please share with your faculty, and contact us with any questions.
Professional/Pedagogical Development Support Fund
September 30 is the deadline for Teaching Stream faculty to submit top-up funding requests to Business Officers for the Professional/Pedagogical Development Support Fund. This fund supports Professional or Pedagogical development by continuing track Teaching Stream faculty of all ranks at U of T Scarborough. Each full-time, continuing track, Teaching Stream faculty member may apply to receive up to $1,000/academic year (i.e. from 1 July 2020 – 30 June 2021) to support related activities.
Special Advisors to VP Dean
We are pleased to announce the following appointments as Special Advisors to the VP Dean; see memo online:
- Professor Corinne Beauquis as the Special Advisor on Experiential Education (EE) - 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021
- Former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, David Onley as the Special Advisor to the VP Dean on Disability Studies (DS) - 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021
- Professor April Franco as the Special Advisor on Management. - 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2026
I will be away from official duties from 8-23 August inclusive. During my absence, Vice-Dean Faculty Affairs, Equity & Success, Professor Maydianne Andrade will be Acting VP Dean from 8-16 August, and Vice-Dean Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies, Professor Mary T. Silcox will be Acting VP Dean from 17-23 August.
