Happenings Events around town

We're just now into August, but it's time to talk about this year's Holiday Social.

This year's Holiday Social will be a virtual event. 100% guaranteed. No waffling!

We realize many of us are feeling "Zoom fatigue", but we don't feel it's possible to safely and responsibly have an in-person Holiday Social this year, and we still want to continue our tradition of bringing the Indiana tech community together around the holidays.

More details will be forthcoming, and we're already kicking around ideas for games, social activities, and other ideas to make this year's Holiday Social the Best Ever Virtual Holiday Social Of All Time.

We'll have some favorites from previous Holiday Socials, including the Hackies awards to recognize folks doing good work in the Indiana tech community, but our intention isn't simply to recreate the Holiday Social in a virtual realm. Nor is it to force anyone to join Yet Another Zoom Call! We know it's not ideal, and we would really prefer to see everyone in person, but we're planning to do something fun this year, in the safest way we can.

If you'd like to get involved, or have an idea for something we can do to put on an incredible virtual event, please reply to this email, contact a board member in Slack, or reach out on Twitter.

More details as soon as we have them, we promise!
