Stafford County McKinney-Vento Services

Stafford County Public Schools Office of McKinney-Vento provides support for students and families experiencing homelessness. In the 2019/2020 school year, over 260 students were identified under the definition of McKinney-Vento in Stafford County. Under the McKinney-Vento Act, every local educational agency is required to designate a liaison for students experiencing homelessness to coordinate services to ensure that homeless children and youths enroll in school, K-12,  and have the opportunity to succeed academically. The role of the liaison is to ensure that each student has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education as provided to other students. The Stafford County Office of McKinney-Vento is supported by Cynthia Lucero-Chavez. The office is located at 610 Gayle Street, T10 and can be reached by calling 540-368-2559 x146 or at clucero@staffordschools.net

The Stafford County Office of McKinney-Vento welcomes the opportunity to work in collaboration with agencies to support students and their families.
