How do we support our Summerfair mission?

Our merchandise sales help our bottom line. Every t-shirt, poster, tile or mug helps us support our giving. We have just received a new shipment of t-shirt sizes. If you haven't gotten your items yet or know someone who may like to support us, please share this link!  https://summerfair-cincinnati.square.site/

We are supporting Action Auction at CET as we do each year! Even though things will look different this year they will still need volunteers. If you are interested in helping let Linda know at the Membership Meeting, August 17th or contact the office. Info@summerfair.org

Our Aid to Individual Awards (AIA) application is now available on our website. https://summerfair.org/outreach/aia-award-application/
Please share with anyone you know who may be interested in applying. Deadline is August 24th at midnight.

From The VP of Administration

Ladies and Gentlemen, Here are your candidates for the open Summerfair Executive Board Positions:

President: Candidate Jill Conway
I am the current President of Summerfair. I would like to run for re-election of this position. I have been a member of Summerfair since 2011; before that I was a yearly patron. I still have the wooden plant stand I bought at my first Summerfair in 1979! Past positions I have held are President of the Seton High School Alumnae organization, V.P. of Operations for Summerfair Cincinnati, and I have served as Vice President of the Eagles Lake Condo Association for the past 6 years.
I have enjoyed serving as President for the past 3 years. I talk to Jayne or communicate by email almost daily. I believe in our mission and foresee that we will be able to reach many more artists in the future.

Vice President of Awards: Candidate Donna Binzer
I have been a member of Summerfair since 2012 when I moved to Cincinnati from Dayton. Before that I was an outside volunteer for two years. I helped coordinate the Small Arts Award in 2017, and then ran for the VP of Awards that year to finish out the term of a member who moved away. After that I was elected for a full term in 2018. In my time in this position, I have organized and tweaked the process for coordinating the Small Art Groups and the Aid To Individual Arts Awards (AIA). Along with assisting at the fair as the coordinator of the Outside Volunteers, I also have assisted in helping with the Emerging Artists Reception, and have attended and participated in board meetings in support of art in the Cincinnati area.
I hope to be able to continue to support Summerfair, the local arts, and the members by continuing my position of VP of Awards.

Vice President of Membership: Candidate Gina Kirk
I have been attending Summerfair with my friends each year since the 80’s. Last year I became a Green Shirt volunteer at the invitation of Jayne and Jill. I have always enjoyed the event and loved seeing and purchasing amazing pieces of art. However, just a few years ago I learned more about Summerfair and your support and promotion of art and artists. Your support of Cincinnati Art Association’s Overture Awards enamored me even more to your wonderful organization. I knew I wanted to give back and help your mission, even if only in a small way.
I have over 20 years of experience working in non-profit development, and many years volunteering for non-profits. I currently work at the Cincinnati Arts Association raising funds for our arts education programs. Prior to my work at CAA I worked for The Summit Country Day School for 10 years where I wore many hats. If I am passionate about a cause or organization, I will find a way to make it bigger, better, get it funded, and make it a success. I am excited about this opportunity and I have many ideas of how to grow the membership at Summerfair and help to bring in more funds. Thank you again for considering me for the role of VP Membership.

From The Managing Director

Orders are still coming in for our merchandise. We have restocked the orange v-neck and blue shirts. Shipments go to the post office at least twice a week.

If you did not receive an email about the meal for our meeting or signing up for the Action Auction just get in touch with me at the office.

I am still working on what we might be able to do to support our 2020 juried in artists. We have two options on the table and are weighting our options. As you all know things can change from day to day so this is an ongoing challenge. I'm working closely with the Board of Health officials, Coney, Game Day and our Executive Board in the hope that something can be finalized, soon.

Take advantage of this down time to take care of yourself. Try not to stress and we'll all be together again soon. Hope to see most of you on the 17th but if you feel more comfortable waiting to join us, please do so.

On a personal good news note.........the board has asked me to stay another year and I said YES, because I love my job!

9 months, 3 weeks and 6 days until Summerfair 2021.

Peace ~ Love ~ Art

Jayne
