When Nate started at County Line Church in 2007, the church was partnering with Dave and Kathy Simpson, missionaries to Bulgaria. In Nate's earliest conversations with Dave and Kathy, they communicated excitement about the new Regional Coordinators, Patrick and Jamie Nachtigall, being assigned to the Europe and Middle East region. Patrick and Jamie had a vision for a whole new way of doing missions - a team-centered approach (read about that here) and the Three Worlds Prism.
For his book, Mosaic, Patrick traveled the world interviewing pastors, missionaries, and other leaders in the Church of God movement. Through these conversations and research, Patrick identified three common challenges in Church of God congregations: missing generations, lack of pastoral support and accountability, and isolation.
The Three Worlds Prism was created as a framework for missionary work in Europe and the Middle East to address these three primary areas of concern.
Engaging Youth, Supporting Leaders, Creating Connectivity
The Church of God has approximately 110 congregations in 14 countries across Europe and the Middle East. Isolation, secularism, and an overall hostility to Christianity is common in many countries throughout the region, where as little as 0.25% of the population identifies as an evangelical Christian.
The Three Worlds team seeks to encourage young people through local and regional camps, the creation of children's and youth ministries, internships, and ongoing relationship.
Many leaders under 45 have been encouraged through the Three Worlds Leadership Network (3WLN). Launched in 2015, 3WLN brings together young leaders from across Europe and the Middle East to foster ongoing relationship for encouragement and collaboration.
Overall connectivity of congregations and believers is achieved through these events, as well as through regular communication and visits throughout the region.
We are eager to join in the work of the Three Worlds team as we walk alongside the local church globally!
Thanks for following our journey!
