Adani urgently needs to borrow more money to pay off huge debts that are due on their Abbot Point coal port. The Abbot Point port is essential to the disastrous Adani Carmichael coal project— this is where Adani will shovel climate-wrecking coal onto ships for export through the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, to be burned at their coal plant in India.
TWO DOWN NINE TO GO
Two of Adani’s current financiers have ruled out future funding of Adani’s Abbott Point Port with $1 billion of loan repayments falling due in 2020-2022.
If Adani can be prevented from securing money to cover their debt, they will have to fork out the money from their own pocket. The more money Adani spends paying off its debt, the less money it has to finance the construction of its climate-trashing coal mine.
Adani will be approaching their nine remaining current financiers to refinance their loans for the port. Stop The Money week of action will see #StopAdani groups targeting companies deemed at risk of providing finance to Adani, pressuring them to commit to not providing money for the Abbot Point Port.
Please SIGN THIS LETTER
Also people will be getting together on Zoom to flood Adani's potential creditors with emails, social media posts and phone calls to ensure not a single cent makes its way to Adani.

Already two major companies (Samsung and Hanwha) have ruled out providing finance for Adani after pressure was applied to them by people across the country. Now it is time to get the rest of the companies to follow suit! |
We may be physically distanced, but we can still connect with one another and make sure our voices are heard. Let's do this!
