When we broke the great news to her, she said: "Really? I never win anything!! Unfortunately our lodge wouldn’t open this season, so no skiing for us but we’re keen for 6 weeks in Canada in Dec/Jan 2021-2022". When we quizzed her a bit more, she shared — "Our favourite resort in Canada is Fernie but we also had a great trip to Sun Peaks and when our daughter was small, back to back trips to Big White. Jackson Hole last year was also amazing. The post COVID plan is 6 weeks in Canada hopefully, going to Fernie, Panorama & Big White. "

Sadly the Victorian ski season came to an early and abrupt end, earlier this month, with Victoria' Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions brought into force. Better news however, for our NSW resort mates, with all resorts open and operating under their COVID-safe protocols. As well, Mother Nature was kind this week, dumping welcome snow across the NSW Snowy Mountains. Our ski resort partners across Canada and the USA are closely monitoring the southern hemisphere ski season, to learn from the experience and integrate best practice experiences. International Border Status — Remains closed.
"Presently, the Canadian international border remains closed for recreational tourism, so we are asking our international visitors to dream now and explore Canada later when the time is right. While the border remains open for essential travel purposes, any visitor who arrives from outside of Canada must quarantine for 14 days."
