Eat Out to Help Out is a success
The Eat Out to Help Scheme started last week, and the BID made sure all eligible businesses knew how to register, the terms and conditions and how to claim. Our ambassadors have spoken to some businesses who have given positive feedback on how the scheme is already helping them. Read more
Discounted parking supports night time economy businesses
The BID’s other discounted travel schemes were difficult for night time economy staff to use because of the timings but Cheltenham BID listened and have negotiated discounted parking in Portland Street, Car Park from 5pm. Read more
August BID Business of the Month – Primark
Congratulations to Primark general manager, Kristan Tarr. The staff settled back in well and have been adapting to the new store arrangements. Every measure that Primark had installed at the beginning of their reopening is still in place with no changes needed. Read more
Something extra...
The Montpellier Courtyard is a specialty shopping centre in the middle of Montpellier Cheltenham. Since lockdown, businesses are planning to and have moved into the shopping destination, creating a new kind of buzz about the place. Read more
A creative new patisserie called Edible Art, specialising in beautiful, colourful and unique pastries and cakes opened in The Courtyard on Saturday August 1. The BID met Lizzie Nicholas, manager of the patisserie at the grand opening of the shop and asked her a few important questions. Read more.
Businesses have been busy preparing to reopen safely and now that they have opened the main feedback from the public and enforcing authorities was that all businesses had done an excellent job of making their premises COVID-19 secure. Yet, more work was needed in managing queues outside of businesses. Read more
