To help you plan and move forward, one thing you can do today, is write down the first task that pops into your head.
Here's what I wrote yesterday morning right after I sat down at my desk:
Then I opened my calendar and created a time to work on it.
That's it. It looks too simple, so how could that one scribble help me get start my day?
By acknowledging the one task that is stickiest and causing the most attention of my brain and assigning it a time and space for action, it left my head allowing me to focus on other work.
