I understand. I'm human too! Some days the work I need to do goes smoothly. Other days, not at all. In this edition I'll share one tip to help you plan, an interesting article about mental fatigue, some fun links, and recent blog posts.

One thing

To help you plan and move forward, one thing you can do today, is write down the first task that pops into your head.

 

Here's what I wrote yesterday morning right after I sat down at my desk:

Then I opened my calendar and created a time to work on it.

That's it. It looks too simple, so how could that one scribble help me get start my day?

By acknowledging the one task that is stickiest and causing the most attention of my brain and assigning it a time and space for action, it left my head allowing me to focus on other work.

Mental fatigue exists and isn't a matter of mere willpower. The folks at doist wrote a comprehensive post about this issue and ways to help you sustain energy and avoid burnout. As we spend additional time at home and working within new normal, it's easy to become fatigued.
