New IRIS Impact Finder tool available; demo webinar set for Aug. 17 

The IRIS Impact Finder is an interactive web tool that helps non-data-experts search the IRIS dataset to find vendors that provide research-related goods and services to your university’s sponsored research projects.

This allows university communications teams to illustrate the social and economic benefits of research spending in targeted geographic or subject matter areas. 

The Impact Finder is currently available to IRIS members through the member portal.

IRIS partners with Duality Technologies on privacy-protecting data platform

IRIS, Duality Technologies, a leading provider of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) enabling collaboration between organizations on sensitive data, and NumFOCUS, a non-profit organization which sponsors the use of open-source software in research, data science and scientific computing, have announced a partnership to create a privacy-preserving collaboration data analysis platform.

The platform will enable academic institutions and public agencies to evaluate the effects of grant-making, scholarships and other financial support on students’ performance, future occupations and contributions to academic research.
