Tactical Pistol Match at GMSA

Hello Shooters!

Please take a few minutes to look over the following bullet points to make sure that nothing takes you by surprise on Saturday!
  • Practiscore registration OPENS TODAY at 3PM - slots fill fast so be sure to register and reserve your spot.  After you pre-register, don't forget to scroll down to the match page and squad yourself.  If you don't squad yourself, you won't have a spot to shoot in!  Practiscore registration for this match will close THURSDAY  NIGHT at 2330 hours. click here to register for this match.
  • In response to complaints about pre-registration time windows, (we know a lot of you have missed out on registration), we will start opening pre-registration 12 days prior to the match and close all pre-registrations at 11:30pm on Thursday night before the match (this allows our MD's time to shuffle squads around in case of withdrawals-as opposed to doing it Saturday morning when registration closed at midnight Friday).
A 12 day opening window for pre-registration is basically 2-weeks out or as we country-folk say it, 12 days before the match is two full Mondays before a Saturday match.  Hopefully this is ample time for people to check their calendars and secure kitchen-clearance for attending.
Our intent is to apply this 12-day opening window evenly across all shooting disciplines at GMSA so that everyone is shooting from the same page.
  • PLEASE NOTE OUR NO-SHOW NOTICE BELOW!
  • If you register or get wait listed, and your plans change and CANNOT attend the match, please go into Practiscore BEFORE 23300 hours on Thursday before the match, (11:30pm), and withdraw from the match.  This will allow shooters on the wait list, (that want to and are able to), a chance for a slot to open up.
  • NO SHOW NOTICE - Shooters that stay on the registered AND squadded list after 2330 hrs Thursday, have reserved 1 of the 30 spots in the match.  If you NO-SHOW for a match, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SHOOT IN THE NEXT TACTICAL PISTOL MATCH  Out of respect for those wait listed, withdraw from the match if you cannot attend.  All withdrawals should be made by 2330 hrs (11:30pm) Thursday. After this, all Wait List shooters will be removed from the lineup and will not be able to shoot in the match BUT WILL be able to pre-register for future matches.
  • WAIT LISTED SHOOTERS - Unless withdrawals are made, there are no available shooting positions and the match is at maximum capacity.  Please try again for next month's match.  IF SLOTS BECOME AVAILABLE, Wait Listed shooters that get moved into the match will receive a notification from Practiscore.  Please be on the look out for this notification and If you haven't received a notification by 2330 hrs, check your Match Management page and view squadding.
  • If you are not squadded FOR SATURDAY'S MATCH, you can not shoot in Saturday's match.  Please try to pre-register earlier for next month's match.
  • For the match, we ask that you please park in the center median of the range and report directly to your shooting bay/squad number.
  • Please DO NOT park in front of the rifle shelters GMSA benchrest is also having their monthly match.
  • Please arrive with exact change for your shoot fee(s).
  • SAFETY BRIEFING - Before the match begins, there will be a common Safety Briefing.  All shooters should assemble on the concrete road immediately behind their pistol bay and wait for the safety briefing to begin.  Please don't wander past the area of your pistol bay and be mindful of social distancing.  With only 10 people per bay, there should be ample room on the roadway behind each pistol bay for 10 people to assemble and maintain social distancing.
  • AFTER THE MATCH - Please make sure that your score sheet is marked with your name, division and shoot fees paid.  Please make sure that your score sheet stays with the timer box so that your SO can turn them in for scoring.
  • MATCH SCORE ANNOUNCEMENT Match scores will be posted to the GMSA website as normal.
  • BRINGING GUESTS TO THE MATCH - Many have asked about bringing guests and spectators to the monthly matches (non-shooters).  Matches are restricted on account of social distancing guidelines and the need to manage crowd sizes.

We have purposely limited squad sizes to 10 people in order to comply with these guidelines and the limit includes all shooters, Safety officers AND spectators.

Please do no bring guests or spectators to monthly matches until social distancing guidelines are lifted.

PLEASE SEE COVID-19 SOCIAL DISTACNING GUIDELINES BELOW THE MATCH DETAILS.

We ask that you please take the time to read the entire list
It contains important information and will keep you off of the SIDKiT list.

TACTICAL-PISTOL CLASS information!

Due to the popularity of Pistol Caliber Carbines, (PCC's), GMSA is excited to announce the addition of a PCC class to our Tactical Pistol matches.  This PCC class will be an addition to our existing CF Pistol and CF Revolver classes.

Additionally, we have added an experimental PCC & PISTOL (2-gun) series of matches scheduled every other month (please mark your calendars)

Our Executive Committee and Match Directors have decided to fully adopt the PCC rules of the IDPA.
The
IDPA rulebook will be strictly followed with the exception of Sig-Braces.

Sig-Braces WILL BE allowed so long as they are fired from the shoulder and NOT strapped to the forearm.

Suppressors will also be allowed but please be reminded that our timers cannot easily pickup suppressed firearms so the timer till have to be manually "thumped" to indicate your last shot.  Course times can and will vary +/- 1 to 2 seconds.

Please take a few minutes and read through the types of PCC firearms that will be allowed in our Tactical Pistol and  PCC only matches.

At this time, no variances to the
IDPA PCC rules will be considered, please do not ask.

Once we get a good feel of the new PCC class, and with the exception of PCC CALIBERS, we may consider adjustments to the IDPA PCC rules so please feel free to offer reasonable suggestions.

All reasonable suggestions will be considered!  PCC caliber definitions will remain firm.
