Hi <<First Name>>,

Nutrient contamination from point and non-point sources is a massive challenge here in the Midwest, but it also threatens water quality and results in dead zones all over the world. While technology alone cannot solve this problem, rich, real-time information can help drive improved management practices and support more effective policies and more efficient market solutions for the agriculture industry and utilities alike. Join Current, with ChicagoNEXT, for two new Innovator Showcase Series events highlighting emerging technologies to address this issue, from artificial intelligence to sensors for monitoring and rapid assessment. In these lunchtime sessions you’ll get an overview of the issue and state of the science, hear fast pitches from the leaders and founders building these solutions, and have a chance to chat with cross-sector attendees.
On August 18th at 12pm CST, learn from innovators using Artificial Intelligence to Solve Nutrient Runoff Challenges. Supported by advances in computer processing power and communication technologies, A.I. has become a powerful tool to develop better land and water management practices that lead to more efficient nutrient utilization and nutrient pollution reduction. Learn more about the presenters and register here!
On August 26 at 11am CST, we’ll look at advances in In-Situ Nutrient Sensors and Analyzers for Environmental Monitoring. This type of monitoring helps us better understand the dynamics of nutrient contamination and allows us to develop effective mitigation strategies. Learn more about the technologies (in development and widely adopted) representing a variety of methods for rapid assessment of nitrogen and phosphorus content of rivers and lakes without physical collection and analysis of samples. Check out the presenters and register here!

We hope to see you at these events and stay tuned for announcements about our fall event lineup, including the first-ever Chicago Water Week (9/28-10/2). For more information about becoming a program partner or sponsor, please contact George Brigandi.

Cheers,
