Zikomo!

We want to communicate our appreciation for each of you and the prayers you continue to pray for us. This summer has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. So much has happened throughout this Summer. Without your prayers and support, we would not be where we are today. When we began itinerating in January, our goal was to be fully funded in 12 months. This was a lofty goal and forced us to push ourselves to be good stewards of the funds our partners have entrusted us with. When a global pandemic threatened to slow things down, God remained faithful. After-all, the cause of reaching the unreached doesn’t end when things become difficult. Today, we are so happy to say we are still right on track to be fully funded and our goal is still to be on a plane no later than February of 2021. In some ways, it feels like the countdown to moving has begun.

We want to give a big shout out to BGMC and all the boys and girls who give to BGMC and help missionaries fulfill the call of God.

This summer, BGMC sent us some really great friends to help us share the love of Jesus with the children of Malawi. This pink gorilla and green crocodile will play a huge role in sharing the hope of Jesus in Malawi.

At the beginning of June, we began a month-long online training program designed to equip us in becoming more efficient partners to the church in Malawi. While this training is typically done in person in Springfield, MO, COVID forced it online. Although online training was different, we really felt it was as effective as possible in preparing us for the field. We are so thankful for the Assemblies of God World Missions leadership for their effort in preparing us for a lifetime of service overseas.

At the end of June, with one week left in training, we moved from our home in Bellevue to live with family while we finish out our itineration. The month of July was full of resettling and relaunching. #relaunch220 began with the goal of gaining 20% of our monthly budget in two months. After 1 month, we increased by 10% and we are well on our way to the 20% goal. God is so good. We really believe #relaunch220 will propel us to the finish line.

Please keep Malawi in your prayers as they are having a transition of power. At the end of June, Malawians elected a new president, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera. Dr. Chakwera is an assemblies of God minister who has preached the gospel around the world. This is a monumental time for the nation of Malawi. We are believing God will use Dr. Chakwera to accomplish great things for the country. He believes God has called him to be a pastor to the nation and is praying for a great revival to sweep the country of Malawi.

In August, we are selling our stuff and beginning to pack things away in anticipation for our move to Malawi. We are both excited for the future and clinging to faith as we take each step in following God’s leading. Consolidating is hard.we have sold most of your possessions and will continue to sell things as we approach our departure date.

Ways to pray for us:
-Please pray for our health and safety as we finish up the final 40% of our budget.

-Please pray for Malawi and the God would provide supernatural wisdom to President Chakwera.

-Please pray for our colleagues in Malawi. Some are stuck back here in the states right now and others are still in quarantine in Malawi.
