ECI 8/11/20: Highlights of the latest SuccessFactors roadmap

SuccessFactors Roadmap Is Available
Been meaning to lead a newsletter with this for a while, but news kept getting in the way. SuccessFactors has redesigned their roadmap viewer, and the new published results are much easier to read. Those of you in companies using Agile will recognize the view as resembling a SCRUM board. You can access the roadmap here. Roadmap items don't always become reality, so take with a grain of salt. Still, roadmaps are very valuable as it indicates where SuccessFactors will be investing over the next couple of years.

I can't do justice to all of the planned functionality in the roadmap. Instead, I'll highlight five items on the list I'm particularly interested in:

Configurable new hire- Finally! The ability to add in MDF objects during the new hire wizard. This greatly enhances the utility of custom MDF objects and prevents customers from having to go back in post-hire and update any custom MDFs that might exist.
Improved import of global benefits- as anyone who has attempted to import benefits will tell you, the current process leaves a lot to be desired.
Internal job history- The internal job history disappeared three years ago with the creation of the people profile. Customers have made the return of this portlet the #1 request in the EC section of the SAP Influence site for quite a while. Looks like they will finally get their wish.
Standard Reports Store-Prebuilt templates for Stores For People Analytics (note the new official name).
Cross-midnight absence handling-The inability to handle absences for employees on overnight shifts has been a big gap for a while. This will be going away soon.

Nice blog that goes into a thorough explanation of how the "Ok To Reihre" field on Termination Details works.

Announcing the General Availability of User Provisioning form SAP SuccessFactors to Azure AD
Haven't gotten a chance to investigate this yet, but this sounds like an important development for companies using the Azure cloud: "With the integration between Azure AD and SAP SuccessFactors, you can now automate user access to applications and resources so that a new hire can be up and running with full access to the necessary applications on day one."

Transition period – Position management in Success Factors
This blog explains using a transition (overlap) period with positions. The overlooked issue with these is that they only work if you can future-date the termination of the current position holder.

2953576	Bizx Daily Rules Processing Job getting Failed in Provisioning	Engineering is working on a fix. Workaround- Disable "Enable Centralized Services" switch in "Admin Center>>Company system and Log settings" page and run the Off cycle job again.
