Global Nutrition Cluster
Issue 18 | September 04, 2020
Dear all,

I am pleased to share with you the final English version of the Evidence and Guidance Note on the Use of Cash and Voucher Assistance for Nutrition Outcomes in Emergencies. The French version of the Guidance should be available in about one month. We are also finalizing a Guidance Brief to facilitate the roll out of the guidance.

We published a number of the jobs and consultancies on our website (see links at the end of the newsletter). I would like to highlight two consultancies we advertised for the GNC Coordination team, linked to the development of the Capacity Building materials: A consultant for the e-learning platform development  and a consultant to develop e-learning materials in Information Management. Please do share the links with people who might be interested.

Best wishes,
Anna on behalf of the GNC-CT

COVID-19 updates

Adaptations in the Management of Child Wasting - Survey | Action Against Hunger-USA, with UNICEF and the US Centers for Disease Control, is leading a new project in which organizations around the world are coming together to systematically document, analyze and synthesize information related to adaptations (such as reduced dosage, iCCM+Nut, Family MUAC, etc.) made to outpatient facilities, community-based programs, and community health worker platforms in the management of child wasting during COVID19.

Collaboration is critical to the success of this project. Please join us in showcasing your organization’s work, participating in knowledge generation, and collaborating in identifying best practices in the treatment of child wasting. This study will kick-off with a short, 10-minute survey telling us what adaptations your organization is implementing. We are also interested in hearing experiences from organizations that have implemented IPC measures but chosen not to adapt standard protocols throughout the pandemic. Results will be used to generate a global map on the State of Acute Malnutrition website to facilitate uptake of this evidence and inform short- and long-term programming.
