Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,
Please plan to attend Pastor Gene Sim’s seminar on “Sharing Christ in our Urban-Setting” this Saturday, August 29, 2020. Pastor Sim’s is the President of the WELS Michigan District. The event will begin at 9 a.m. in the St. Paul’s schoolyard. There will be a morning session and a shorter afternoon session. Between sessions, there will be a lunch. We should be done by 3 p.m.
This seminar will help us as a congregation and a school understand, from a biblical perspective, the social and political issues that we face as a nation. I encourage all of you to attend so that we can face the challenges before us as a unity body in Christ, dedicated to sharing the gift of free salvation to all people in our own church, our community, our city, and in the world at large.
Pastor Sims is our guess speaker in our Sunday worship hour. After the service, we will have time for fellowship and then we will have our next Call meeting (#3!).
6 Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
they will be remembered forever.
7 They will have no fear of bad news;
their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:6-7
11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Colossians 3:11
Thanks everyone. I appreciate your fellowship and partnership in the Gospel. I look forward to seeing you all this weekend.
In Christ,
Kevin Coffee
St. Paul’s First Lutheran Congregation President
