JULIE LONG OAM - PRESIDENT OF THE CBCA ACT BRANCH

President’s Report September 2020

Hello everyone,

We had a very successful AGM and have to farewell Jennifer Ferdinand from the Committee as she heads off to London for her husband’s posting. We wish her and her family a fabulous stint there. Heather Wilkinson has taken over the role of Enews and we are pleased to get this out so soon after the AGM.
By now some of you will have received your gratis 2020 Merchandise of book marks and Book Week Shortlist Poster as part of your 2020 membership. We hope it helps you get ready for our October Book Week. There will be an online National Book Week Awards announcement. The National Library has contacted me to say that we are unable to use their Theatre this year, so I think we will celebrate with the online version.
Our inaugural Reader’s Cup is going ahead, at this stage possibly in an online format (as so many other things are these days).

Happy reading everyone,

Julie Long
CBCA ACT Branch President
