Alameda County Health Department to Allow for Outdoor Personal Care Services
Effective today, August 28, Alameda County Health Department's new Health Order  allows for limited outdoor activities and services to resume.

The Order allows for the reopening of outdoor swimming pools as well as outdoor services for hair salons, nail salons, barbershops, waxing, skin care and non-medical massages. Services that may require a client to remove their face covering, as well as eyebrow threading and waxing and eyelash treatments are not permitted at this time. Tattoo, piercing, and electrolysis businesses are not allowed to operate indoors or outdoors.

Wineries with outdoor tasting facilities may provide tastings by appointment, without the requirement to provide a meal.

Businesses should refer to the following for Reopening Guidance:

Allowable businesses noted above that are interested in outdoor operations are asked to complete a no-fee application found at Planning Department and email to pod@cityofpleasantonca.gov.

Today the Governor also announced the Blueprint for a Safer Economy, a colored tiered plan that imposes risk-based criteria on tightening and loosening allowable activities. When the state and county have different guidance on allowable activity, it is whichever is the more restrictive applies.
Dolores Bengston Aquatic Center
Phased Reopening

Individuals will be permitted to reserve swim lanes for lap swim and fitness purposes only. Recreational and family use of pools will not yet be allowed. Pre-registration is required with limited space available. A link to our pre-registration page will be available soon—along with further details about DBAC’s phased reopening process.
