This Tuesday on September 1st, at 6:30 PM, the first Hill Climb of the season will be held at the Bathurst Street Hill. There will be 3 Hill Climbs at this location. It is an excellent challenge for all riders, the quick and the not so quick. Last year the fastest times were around the 4:00 minute mark, the slowest probably about 8 minutes. The freshly painted yellow/red start line is south of the King Christian School driveway. The course heads south in a 2.5 metre wide paved shoulder for 2.0 kilometres to the crest. The finish is at the "Bike Route" sign denoted by a yellow line. The first kilometre is flat to warm up your legs, then the hill awaits you. The hill averages 8%, bhowever it is not a consistant gradient. As a bonus Tuesday is forecast to be a nice day.
To ride this event you must pre-register. To do so fill out the entry sheet, and the Covid waiver form if you have not done so, and pay me $5 online by Interac as per our Time Trials. The Hill Climb is a TT and the registration is found under Details in the Time Trial section on our web site.
Note - Bathurst Hill Climb Registration runs from Saturday until 2:00 PM on Tuesday
- Kennedy Road 20/40 km ITT Time Trial registration will start on Wednesday and run to Friday at 8:00 PM
Today we received permission to use the school's parking lot. The parking is at the King Christian School - South Parking Lot. The school is on the west side of Bathurst Street south of the Graham Side Road. The address is 19740 Bathurst Street, East Gwillimbury. Enter by the north driveway.
