The Derbyshire Dales Children and Young People’s Well-Being Network exists to bring together individuals who support children and young people in the Derbyshire Dales area to share skills, information, experiences, good practice and resources.

The network is open to all groups, organisations and development workers operating in the Derbyshire Dales area.

Join us on Wednesday 2nd September for a virtual catch-up via Zoom!

We would really like to hear from you if you are part of a group for young people – sports – drama – Scouts/Guides – you name it! It’s a great chance to share information about what you are doing at the moment – what you feel able to do / what you would like to do – with a view to supporting each other and helping young people feel less isolated.

To book your place & receive your ZOOM link contact Louise at Derbyshire Dales CVS Tel: 07453 383235 email: louise@ddcvs.org.uk

If you are unable to use Zoom or you don’t feel comfortable joining an online meeting please do contact Louise as we hope to meet in person in the future, and you may wish to contribute your thoughts, ask for support for your work with children and young people or just keep up to date on the forum.

Local people are being invited to comment on a draft neighbourhood development plan that sets out a vision for the future of Ashbourne.

If adopted, the policies in the Ashbourne Neighbourhood Plan will be used to help determine planning applications in the parish.

Drawn up by Ashbourne Town Council, with the help of the Neighbourhood Plan Group and the local community, the draft plan has been formally submitted to Derbyshire Dales District Council and is subject to a period of six weeks of publicity.

Local people can have their say on the document in an online consultation at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/AshbourneNP – and all representations received will be considered by an Independent Examiner who will report on the plan prior to a local referendum on the final document.

The draft Neighbourhood Plan, and supporting documents can also be viewed at the Ashbourne Visitor Information Centre on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. To view the documents at the Visitor Information Centre please make an appointment by telephone 01335 342291 (Option 3) or email vic@ashbournetowncouncil.gov.uk

Once ‘made’ by the District Council, the Neighbourhood Plan becomes a legal planning policy document that must be used in the assessment of planning applications and by developers preparing an application for submission to the planning authority.

The Covid-19 pandemic has seen a rapid roll-out of virtual NHS consultations such as telephone/video appointments, online correspondence and text messaging.
Healthwatch Derbyshire wants to hear from people who have used virtual appointments, people who have been unable to access virtual appointments, and those who are put off seeking medical advice using the methods above.

Your feedback will tell Healthwatch how virtual appointments can be improved to meet the needs of everyone. It will be shared with decision-makers to help plan health services in the future.
To share your views please contact Healthwatch Derbyshire before 18/09/2020

If the Covid-19 Pandemic has taught us anything it is the very real value of exercise. However, it is often difficult to find a type of exercise which suits us. Cycling is great, but quite expensive and doesn’t suit everybody, and not everyone likes going to a gym.

There is an alternative – Nordic Walking, an exercise model of proven effectiveness. It can improve aerobic fitness, strength, agility, co-ordination and balance in one easy method. No special clothing or special shoes needed!

New sessions are now held in Bakewell on Tuesdays at 4.30pm. Taster sessions are free then just £4 per session.

The sessions are suitable for all ages and all abilities; even anyone with mobility issues can take part.

Further details from Phill Alcock British Nordic Walking and International Nordic Walking Federation Instructor.
