We Are Still Here...

and we are picking the pace back up again!

What a bizarre few months it has been! We hope that this email finds you and our loved ones safe and well. It has been a hard few months, but we are kicking things back into a higher gear and pushing ahead. We would not be here still if it was not for the incredible support from the community. Due to memberships and room rentals slowing down, we have been generating roughly one-third of our monthly utilities ($3,300). Thanks to people like you, we have received the other two-thirds in donations. We cannot thank you enough and still have a long way to go to make it through this. We know that on the other side of this, spaces that support community connections and remote workers are going to be needed more than ever before! If you would like to donate, whether it is towards operating costs or required ventilation upgrades, we would be forever grateful.

LEADERSHIP LUNCH & LEARN: PRIORITIZING USE OF YOUR PRECIOUS TIME
Are you spending the work day focused on your priorities or mostly responding to other people’s needs? At the end of the day, do you have a sense of accomplishment or does it feel more like a treadmill? Do you get caught up in seemingly urgent activities that aren’t always that important? Do you wish you had more time to spend on planning, clarifying priorities, building positive relationships, imagining future possibilities, and seeking new opportunities? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this workshop will provide skills to help you better manage your limited and precious time, incorporating the urgent/important matrix, and embracing author Stephen Covey’s advice to “Put first things first.” Doug Teschner will provide participants with a personal worksheet for self-assessment, individualized goal setting, and action planning to grow their leadership skills. Thursday, Sept 24th 12:00-1:30pm Register Online by Donation

Equipment Grants: Granted & Match Needed

GRANT AWARDED FOR EQUIPMENT During the craziness of the first few weeks of COVID, we received notification that we had been awarded an Economic Development Grant from the Preservation Trust of Vermont. This will allow The Space to provide much needed equipment to our members and to the community at large: 3 soundproof ROOM booths, laptops for holding classes for children and adults (when we can do that again), and equipment to transform an unused room into a podcast/webinar/digital content recording studio (a little ahead of its time).

CRITICAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED In order to stay open through cold months, we will need to install an air ventilation system and we will need to add UV purification to our heat pumps. Right now, we have air flow by keeping windows and doors open, but being in Vermont, there are only so many more weeks that we can pull that off. This upgrade will cost just over $13,000. Please get in touch if you would like to support this purchase! We are working on a grant with a 50% match to try to secure this equipment.

Sustaining Spark!

Looking to support The Space On Main? Become a Sustaining Member for $15/month! You will get: That Fuzzy Feeling, Inbox Treasures & Invites, Membership Directory Access, Stylish Swag, Bumper Bling, The Magic of Automation, and All The Discounts. Visit our website to learn more.

It may not seem like a lot of money, but when we have multiple people sign up, it adds up fast! We would love to add you to our membership!
Thank you so much for all or your support. More updates soon!
