Taiwan is still in lock-down mode, barring entry to all foreigners except those with valid residency visas. Although we tried securing our visas many months before our original departure date back in May of this year, we had to submit new visa applications after the virus hit which delayed our plans by about five (5) months.
As we wait for Taiwan to approve our new visas, God has reminded us that man can make plans, but God’s will always stands. God is still teaching us to be wholly dependent on Him through it all.
Nevertheless, we still make plans as we trust God by faith, and in anticipation of receiving our visas in September, we are preparing for departure as soon as receive them. As Taiwan requires a negative coronavirus test result within three (3) days before boarding a plane to their country, we will begin a self-quarantine in September to reduce our risk of exposure and further delay the mission. Lord willing, we will be in Taiwan the next time you hear from us next month!
We couldn’t be more excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve God in Taiwan soon; however, we will be facing new challenges and we need your prayers on our behalf and for the sake of the gospel. After a long international flight with two young children, we are required to be completely isolated for two (2) weeks upon arrival. In addition to adapting to a new culture and climate, we will also need to find a place to live and then transport all our belongings there. Please see our prayer points.
