Busy Busy LWRC
September promises to be a busy time at the boathouse, especially between the hours of 5-7 AM. Potential new members, who wish to row early are now on a wait list. How can you help free up singles and move members on and off the water during these busy times?
  • Row after 7 AM if you can
  • Row in 2x's with members who are fellow householders or romantic partners
  • Row in Bays, Maas 24's, Aeros, or singles Puck, Bob, Ariel and Ben
  • Free up the Dock! Move quickly Launching and Landing. Don't leave boats and oars at the dock unattended.
  • Donate to the Equipment Fund for the purchase of more singles
Buy Bantam Oars
Thinking of buying oars for yourself? We are putting in an order for Bantam Oars, $350 a set. Should be delivered in 4 weeks. Contact the Office, by Sept 5, if you'd like a set. They'll be delivered to LWRC.

Locks to Can
Come one, Come All. We have commenced with the Fall Training 6K series, Locks to Can. Wednesdays at 6:15 AM from the Ballard Locks to the red can in South Lake Union. We will attempt to place a safety launch each week at the start, that will follow the race to the finish. Invite friends from other clubs, if you'd like.
Why do it? Empower yourself. You are sure to learn something about your rowing, with the support of other racers. Practice race strategies, stroke rates and discover what makes you move a boat. You can also choose to do Locks to Gas Dock, a 4K, if you aren't ready for the 6K. Enter your time in the Speed Log so you can track yourself (and others).

"Almost Intermediate" 7-9 AM class with coach McKenna on Fridays. Started last week.

NOTE: The Almost Intermediate classes can't accommodate drop ins, due to the experience level of the group. Please contact the coach if you'd like to join the class.
