Dear DRIMB Parents/Guardians--
Phew! We made it through our first week of school at DRHS and in the DRHS music program! I will say that it has been the most unique start-of-year I have ever experienced, as I am sure your children feel the same, but I am so thankful for the very flexible and open-minded music students who made this week enjoyable and productive.
We are taking the first few class sessions to get used to many elements of the technology we are using this year in our classes, and are also spending time building connections and working to create our classroom community. I'm looking forward to exploring some virtual playing and music-making this week with the students-- wish us luck! We then move into hybrid learning September 8th.
Thank you so much for the ongoing parent/guardian support for our program as we get our year started. We are restarting our bingo program with safety measures in place and are always in need to student/parent/guardian volunteers to make these events possible. We are also in need of volunteers to continue to build our grant/corporate sponsorship seeking. Please either reach out to me or the music boosters if you would like to get involved in volunteering/fundraising within our program.
I wish you and your family the best this week, and please continue to reach out with questions about our program as we continue the start of our year. Thank you so much!

A Word From our Co-Presidents
Hello Music Families,
Bingo is starting back up today, Sunday, August 30th!!!! Please sign up ASAP for any of the upcoming dates. We are not assigning groups to the sessions right now, all are encouraged to come volunteer and support our Music program at Dakota Ridge!
LINK: https://signup.com/Group/326226560039/
We will be working Bingo sessions every Friday and Sunday for the time being. Please remember we need a few parents at each session, so if you are willing, please sign up with your students! If you have any questions or concerns about bingo, please reach out to Vanessa Barker (see Bingo Update Below)
We will also be putting together a committee soon to discuss new fundraising ideas and to put together information about our program for grants and corporate sponsorships. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to Tami.
**Also, we are busy sewing bell covers for our wind instruments, and masks for all of our band students in Marching Band and in Symphonic Band. Our Uniform parents would like some help with sewing, cutting fabric, tracing patterns etc. The masks and covers are meant to help with slowing the spread of the Corona virus, and to get our wind players playing again! Please text, call, or email Cathy Amwoza if you would like to be involved at mrsamwoza@gmail.com or 630-544-7174. Thanks!
Good luck this week with school! We hope you have a wonderful week!!!
Thank you

BINGO Updates
BINGO SIGN-UP link: https://signup.com/Group/326226560039/
BINGO begins today! Thank you to Vanessa and Ethan Barker, Tami and Danica Smith, Tom and Lauren Lucero for working our first Bingo back from our Covid-19 pause! We appreciate YOU!!!
Bingo is successful when we have good parent and student participation. We always need a parent to work the pickle bar (a separate area where we sell pull tabs, progressive and special bingo sheets) and preferably need a parent to help cashiering. Students handle the rest of the pickle bar duties, verifying bingos on the floor and calling. We also need to gear up to have 3 new bingo managers as Dominick Cisson's daughter no longer is in marching band and Dylan's and Jessica's daughters are seniors. We currently host three sessions (Friday at 7:30 and 10:00 and Sunday at 7:30; we ask that the volunteers arrive at 6:00 and generally we are done at midnight on Friday and 10:00 on Sunday). If you are comfortable being in the bingo hall, please volunteer for the upcoming sessions.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the bingo managers.
