The past few months have been very busy here at Cre8! Read on for an update on what's been happening.
Christmas Hope
As we approach the end of this unexpected and difficult year, we are finding ourselves tired and drained. The continual need to assess and change our ways of doing things this year has been challenging. We have a vacancy at the moment for a senior youth worker but we are hopeful that 2021 will bring us the right person. But before this we are looking forward to much needed rest over the Christmas break. We know Christmas is a difficult time for some. There has been increased demand for all our services from across our Community as the impact of the pandemic continues to affect us all in different ways. But we have been touched and fortified by the generosity of spirit that all our volunteers, donors and staff continue to show in a variety of ways. Successful funding bids have brought us further positive news, as this month we were awarded two grants from Cheshire Community Foundation. This new support will let us deliver new activities in 2021 that will focus on our young people including an inter-generational project that will focus on mental health, telling stories and sharing experiences. This week we also begin some small group work with young people through a council funded project. This will bring some much needed connection by actually meeting together face-to-face. A simple action that we all have missed so much over this year.

We are surviving, and remain determined to make a real difference in our Community. This newsletter will give you a glimpse into that determination and good insight into our hopes and aspirations for next year. Thank you for your support and we wish you well for a safer, healthier and more-connected 2021.

- Ameera
Learning Plus Update
Our Learning Plus project has been back up and running this term and it was great to see our young people again after so long, as well as saying hello some new participants. We are currently delivering around 16 sessions a week which is nearing our full capacity.

We have been working creatively as a team to ensure our sessions are run in a safe manner during the current circumstances, and have been adapting as the situation continues to change. We will continue to regularly risk assess our 121 sessions in the coming months to make sure we continue to work within necessary safety regulations.
Online Winter Youth Music Concert
Due to the current lockdown restrictions in place, we are unable to host our annual Christmas Youth Music Concert this year. Despite this we are determined to do something to showcase and celebrate the amazing talents of our young people, so we have decided to host the concert online! Our music team and young people are working hard to record and put together the concert which will be streamed on YouTube on Friday the 18th of December at 7pm.

We will be releasing a link to the premiere on Facebook closer to the time, so keep a look out!
This is following on from our Summer Online Youth Music Concert which was a huge success. It really was a testimony to the talent we have here at Cre8 and we can't wait to see more!

If you missed this years Summer Youth Music Concert, or would like to watch it again, it can be found on our Cre8 Music YouTube account. Follow the link below to take a look. We hope you can tune in for our Winter Youth Music Concert in the coming weeks!

Cre8 Christmas Trees
We have been selling Nordmann Fir 5ft-8ft real Christmas trees and stands as part of a project to provide work experience for young people and raise money for Cre8. We provided a local delivery service, and opened up on St Barnabas on the 5th of December for people to come and choose their own tree. Young people were employed in the selling and delivery of the trees, and all proceeds raised will go back into Cre8 and our projects.

The project has been a huge success. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who bought a tree from us and those who helped spread the word. A special thank you to all those who donated extra to us for their tree. Its incredible to see people coming together with such acts of kindness, even in what has been such a difficult year.

A big well done to all our staff and volunteers who worked to make this project possible. We hope that everyone who bought from us enjoys their tree!
Social Enterprise work with PPHT
Our Social Enterprise project recently teamed up with Peaks and Plains Housing Trust to clean up the garage site on the corner of Rutland Road and Moss Lane. As you can see from the before and after shots below, our team did an amazing job! We're very thankful to PPHT for working with us on this project and helping us provide these kinds of employment opportunities to young people.

Cre8 Facilities
Our Cre8 Facilities washing service continues to provide an excellent service, with our team working as hard as always. Below are some of their before and after pictures which perfectly showcase their work.

We own a professional jet washer, so if you want something washing down, we might be able to help. Get in touch with Jonathan on 07515 410170 or jonathan.aiken@cre8macclesfield.org
Bauble Collection
We're asking for people to bring us their spare, unwanted baubles to help decorate our christmas tree outside St Barnabas Church!

If you have any baubles at the bottom of your decoration box, or alternatively would like to make your own, please bring your bauble down to us at the Cre8 House, 11 Belgrave Road, Monday-Friday between 9am and 4pm.
Youth Work Supervisor Recruitment
Since Amy's departure in October we are now in a position to recruit into this important role which leads our youth work provision at Cre8.
For more details on the role and how to apply, visit our website:
www.cre8macclesfield.org/work-for-us

Here is what Amy had to say about her time at Cre8:
"When I joined Cre8 (almost) 3 years ago I was worried how I was going to be received. Not only was I not from the Moss, but a complete outsider who had never visited Macclesfield in her life. Now 3 years on I would like to thank not only the young people for being so responsive to me but their parents and families for making me feel so welcome.
I have had a wonderful 3 years with Cre8 and will be taking with me a bucket full of fond memories. Thanks to everyone who has supported me and helped me grow within my time here. I wish Cre8 all the best for future projects in all the wonderful work they do."
Welcoming Keziah
As many will know our office administrator, Emma Thomas, went away on maternity leave in August. Ameera caught up with her on a socially distanced walk, and we've been given her permission to share this photo of beautiful baby Keziah to show off the newest addition to the Cre8 family! We're wishing her and her family the best. Its lovely to see some positivity during these difficult times.

Cre8 has been chosen by the Mayor of Macclesfield to be her charity of the year alongside Macclesfield Seals. We are incredibly thankful to the mayor for her support, and as part of this there will be multiple fundraisers running in 2021. These will include things such as a charity auction and producing a 'book of kindness' to give to schools.

We will keep you updated on these events as they happen!
