Work begins on ground source heating at The Montessori Place school
Our partners at Nicholls Boreholes have begun work on the first of thirteen boreholes at the Montessori Place School near Uckfield. Each borehole will be 120 metres deep and will be used to provide heat for an 87kW ground source heat pump. Rob Gueterbock, Head of School, said "With BHESCo’s help we've ditched our two oil-boilers and the children will return to a school heated by clean, green, renewable energy". Read more >>
Share offer raises £100k in 3 weeks
BHESCo's new share offer has raced off to a fabulous start. Over £100,000 has been invested in just three weeks from a mixture of new and existing shareholders.
This will be our final investment drive to offer shareholders a 5% interest rate. The offer will close once the £225,000 target has been reached, or by the time of our AGM on 24th September, whichever comes first.

Winter Energy Advice 2020 / 2021
We are delighted that once again we'll be acting as a local energy champion as part of the Big Energy Saving Network, a Government funded fuel poverty alleviation programme which is administered by Citizens Advice.
BHESCo has taken part in the campaign each year since 2015, and in that time have helped nearly 2,000 residents to collectively save £130,540 on their energy bills. Anyone in Brighton and Hove is welcome to contact BHESCo for free and impartial switching advice.
eCargo Bike Accelerator Project
BHESCo are very fortunate to be the recipients of a brand new electric cargo bike, courtesy of Brighton and Hove City Council's 'eCargo Bike Accelerator Project'. The new bike will support the delivery of free energy improvements for fuel poor households by enabling our team to carry enough equipment with them to survey a home and install efficiency measures in a single visit. This means we can support twice as many fuel poor households for the same amount of time/grant funding. Read more>>

The Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill
A parliamentary bill has been developed by members of Extinction Rebellion, the Big Ask Campaign, and Power For People, which will obligate the Government to protect climate and ecological wellbeing. The bill calls for the UK to quantify its entire carbon footprint both here and abroad and to design strict laws to reduce the UK's environmental impact. Read more

Could you be an energy hero in Brighton and Hove?
BHESCo are looking for someone to support our vital work providing free energy bill advice for residents of Brighton and Hove. We're seeking a volunteer to help with online energy tariff comparisons for low-income and vulnerable customers who struggle to keep up with gas and electricity bills. Training and support will be provided. View details and apply.
