"Food is a great way to transport your family to far-flung destinations. This light, flavorful salad is the perfect dish for the steamy summer months, and it's easily adaptable depending on what ingredients you have on hand." writes Astrid Hedbor Lague in this month's "Mealtime" column.

"Inside the Cinemas, Edelmann said, he plans to show matinees only on weekends. On weekdays, the auditoriums will offer different forms of entertainment — and education — to a constituency particularly in need of it: schoolchildren. Edelmann has volunteered the cinemas' space for a K-8 school-day program... Rec Kids Supported Learning Spaces, a partnership of the district and Essex Parks and Recreation. The program offers learning spaces, breakfast, lunch and activities to K-8 students on days when they're doing remote learning under the district's hybrid model."

But for weeks, Vermonters have been asking us for some way to track what schools are doing statewide. Both the Vermont Superintendents Association and the Agency of Education have recently put out surveys into the field to track district reopening plans. They provided us with their findings, and we combined the information into this map."

What It Looks Like When School, and Everything Else, Happens at Home
"Lockdown has made our family bond, wrapping us in a tight hug, though at times it feels like a boa constrictor's slow squeeze," writes British photographer Elizabeth Dalziel. "It has allowed my husband and me a glimpse into how our children approach learning and knowledge. We found them injecting humor into every available assignment that would allow it. Laughter, it seems, is a great route to education."
