Good afternoon! We are looking high and low for student writing to publish!
The Magnum Opus Newsletter is taking a month off while we begin to prepare for another year of showcasing outstanding student writing. As we plan our 2021 print edition and monthly newsletters, we need something very important: your students’ submissions!
Our monthly e-newsletters feature a different structural unit each month, and the print edition also includes work from all of the nine units. Publishing something each month allows us to include a large number of student papers, and we hope your student's will be one of those!
If your students have used the three free weeks of lessons from IEW this summer, we would love to feature their key word outlines and paragraphs from Unit 2 in our September newsletter. Or perhaps your students have created a Unit 2 paragraph from other sources; we’d love to see those too! Submissions for that edition need to be received by August 25. Our other deadlines are listed below.
For the upcoming 2021 print edition, the theme will center around the idea of creativity, something that many of us have employed during this unusual time in history and a topic that students will enjoy writing about. We look forward to receiving their submissions for any of the nine units. If your students desire to submit more than one piece, they are welcome to do so.
As your students work through the nine structural units during the school year, we hope you’ll encourage them to submit their work. Having their work published is an exciting opportunity and a great addition to their portfolio and transcripts as well.
We hope you are having a relaxing summer even with all the uncertainty of what school will look like this fall. Please know that IEW stands ready to assist you in any way we can.
Sincerely,
Danielle Olander
