LIFTING AS WE CLIMB

On Wednesday, August 26 at 8:00 pm EDT on the GALA Chorus YouTube page will be a virtual performance preview of Lifting As We Climb, a piece commissioned by GALA in celebration of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the U.S. The performance includes a discussion among Jane Ramseyer Miller, GALA Aristic Director, Cathy Roma (as the piece was commissioned from the Roma Commissioning Fund administered by GALA), Dr. Tammy Kernodle, a historian who participated in the research for the commission and Joan Szymko, the composer. The conversation among these four incredible women is astounding to hear. Check out this trailer!
